One Piece AR Carddass Formation Mission List with guide

Mission
Note: the keyword is 'after'.

- Win using Skilled Command

Your final attack must end with your Skilled Command.

- Win using a special move/Win with a special move.

Your final attack must end with your special move.

- Win after using a special move.

You have to execute a special move any round during the match. Finishing with it should be ok too.

- Win after using an item.

You have to use an item any round during the match. I simply choose the cheapest meat.

- Win after using an item 3 times.

This can be tricky. I suggest to start using items from the start as you can only use item once per round. Otherwise, you might kill the opponent before you use up 3 items.

- Win without taking a special move. (I think you are suppose to avoid AI's special move, to be safe, don't use yours as well)

This isn't too difficult but you can use those characters with abilities to remove special move mark for an easier time. Using Mantra Pose Activation characters help too.

- Win with your HP above 50%

Nothing difficult as well but use damage reduction/move negation character for an easier time.

- Win without taking any damage.

This is one of the toughest missions. Move negation or Mantra Pose activation characters is recommended but you still need a degree of luck. You can restart the mission anytime you get hit but will lose any item used.

- Win without using recovery items.

Easy.

- Win after a draw match.

You need a draw match anytime in the match. Using Mantra Pose Activation characters.

- Win after inflicting Critical Damage.

You need a critical hit any round during the match. Using Mantra Pose Activation characters to get easier win for a trump command to activate critical.

- Win after using special moves twice or more.

This is tricky. I suggest to use characters that take the least number of special moves (2) mark to activate the special move before the match finishes.

- Win after inflicting Critical Damage twice.

This is another tricky one. Use Mantra Pose Activation characters.

One Piece AR Carddass Formation Team Effect

Full Team effects in Chinese here. Courtesy of One Piece AR Carddass Formation For World 資料館 Facebook page.

If you read the manga or watch the anime, you can probably guess from the names of the team effect what crew you need.

- "Harem" Team effect: Male Attack increase, Female Defence increase

Sanji with 2 female crew members. Harem is a genre in anime/manga.

- "Princess and Guardian" Team effect: Defence increase

Luffy and Princess Shirahoshi.

- "Brother's Bond" Team effect: special move damage increase

Luffy and Ace.

- "Devil Fruit User" Team effect: special move damage increase

Whole team must consist of Devil Fruit users. For those who do not follow the series, here's the wiki link.

- "Flower of the Battlefield" Team effect: Probability Rate increase

Whole team must consist of Female crew members.

- "Truce" Team effect: defence up attack down

Smoker or Boa Hancock (a Marine crew member) together with 2 Pirates. Edit: If you look at the top right corner on the back of the cards, those with Skulls can be safely assumed to be Pirates.

- "Impel Down Escapee" Team effect: EXP gained increase

Only 1 combination in Formation 01: Luffy, Crocodile and Jinbe. Refer to the Impel Down Story Arc if you want the details.

- "2 Princesses" Team effect: special move damage increase

Princess Nefertari Vivi and Shirahoshi. Edit: Boa Hancock is the snake princess so perhaps she is another princess too?

- "Straw Hat Crew" Team effect: Team HP increase

Whole team must be from Luffy's Pirate crew.

- "Shichibukai" Team effect: Attack increase

Only 1 combination in Formation 01: Boa Hancock, Crocodile and Jinbe. None of the other 7 Warlords are in the game.

- "Pirates Banquet" Team effect: Beri reward increase

Whole team must be piratesEdit: If you look at the top right corner on the back of the cards, those with Skulls can be safely assumed to be Pirates.

- "Three Great Powers" Team effect: Team Defense increase

Shanks, Boa Hancock, Jinbe or Crocodile and Smoker or Boa Hancock (She got the Navy effect in stages so I'm think she is counted as Marine too?). Check out the wiki for 3 Great Powers for the meaning.

Quite a few of them will gain you an accomplishment and unlock some items. As some team effects only take 2 members, you can easily create a team that can gain many effects. Mix and match crew members to try and gain the most advantage for battle!

Young Generation Issue 577 out now! FPR02 Shanks inside.

The September issue is out now! I used to read Young Generation when I was in Primary school. It's nice to know that Vinny the Vampire is still in it. Note that there is no mention in the magazine or on the cover that FPR02 Shanks is given. It gives a pamphlet introducing the game, which is also the same pamphlet you get at the Takashimaya Toy Fair.

One Piece AR Carddass Formation Promotions from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore

I decided to use abbreviation for the game title from now on as it is too long. These are the promotions I've gathered that are available in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore and they come from comics and magazines. If I'm not wrong, all 3 countries uses the World version of the app.

Hong Kong
FPR01 Chopper is given in the Bandai Ani-Con 2012. (It seems you just need to ask for it at their booth but the Entrance Fee: $30)
FPR02 Shanks is given in One Piece Manga Book #66 by publisher Jonesky
FPR07 Luffy is given in Milk Magazine #575

Taiwan
FPR02 Shanks is given in One Piece Manga Book #66 by publisher Tong Li. I managed to get one from the Singapore Comic Connection stores. It gives a  It is selling the packs too at the same price as 7-11 ($6.90) and they do not give out any promotional packs. The manga also gives out a Princess Shirahoshi/Brook poster card.

Singapore
FPR01 Chopper given at the Takashimaya Crazy Toy Fair when you buy 3 packs.
FPR02 Shanks given in September issue of YG Magazine.

I think there is a high chance that Singapore's One Piece Manga Volume 66 by Chuang Yi publisher will get a promotional card too. What's left is the FPR07 Luffy so let's keep our fingers crossed for that!

Update #1: I found Chuang Yi's One Piece Manga Volume 66 in Comic Connection and it does not contain any cards give-away!

Update #2: Confirmed that FPR02 Shanks is in Issue 577 of Young Generation Magazine in Singapore.

One Piece AR Carddass Formation 02 coming soon

Japan version of Volume 2 is coming on 22 September 2012 according to cdjapan.co.jp. I wonder what new characters and new abilities will join in the battle. It will be another set of 49 cards.

Update: More information from this poster/picture courtesy of 航海王 AR Carddass ARtaiwan Facebook page. I don't understand most of it but from the pictures, Boa Hancock and Crocodile are going to be the 2 king rares this time under point 2. The new characters I see are Blackbeard, Whitebeard (as the big boss?), Mr. 2 and Mr. 3 . Under point 4, you can try translating the Japanese words for the 11 new characters joining. There is also going to be a 6 vs 1 Big Boss Battle.

More Info released about the One Piece AR Carddass Formation Singapore Launch Events from their Singapore Facebook Page

Boss Marker Competition

I didn't know this was a weekly thing but from the comments, you'll get a trading figure. (From the comments, it is the mini keychain type you see in the next link) The Luffy I fought wasn't too tough and from the poster, the other 2 bosses are Brook and Princess Shirahoshi.

Promotion

I'm glad I managed to get the Chopper promo card and it is the only promotion I wanted. I didn't flash this promo as the information wasn't released at that time. Therefore, I think without flashing this promotion, you can still Chopper but it's better to be safe than to be sorry so bring along your Internet-enabled Smartphone!

iOS version 1.1 update and Singapore Launch Event at Takashimaya

Version 1.1 mostly brings bug fixes. I used to get black screens on my iPhone 4 during battles. It happens mostly during before or after the start of a special move movie, the black screen just remains indefinitely. I hope this update fixes it. The other change is that the app icon has a 1.1 wording and Luffy looks clearer to me!

I just came back from the Takashimaya Toy Fair and checked out the booth there. There wasn't anyone checking it out when I was there and all the people were busy shopping for toys in the Toy Fair. There were 3 tablets (I think they were iPads) displaying the game but I didn't check them out. Instead I went over to the counter to check out the promotions. It turns out that you can get the promotional FPR01 Chopper card here by buying 3 packs. Buying 3 packs in the 7-11 here in Singapore gets you either FPR03 Ace, FPR04 Luffy, FPR05 Boa Hancock or FPR06 Jinbe but check with the staff about the promo cards before buying.

Each pack contains 3 cards and the rarity inside is random from what I gather; there is no fix number of common or rares in each pack. One pack costs $6.90 and I find it quite expensive. I guess it is probably to offset the backend Server maintenance costs. (they are up 24/7?) There is also a QR code for you to scan a boss battle with Luffy. The other important information I got from the event was that FPR02 Shanks is coming in the September issue of YG (Young Generation?) magazine. That is something to look out for!

Update: Just saw another magazine named YG. It is a fashion magazine which has a Singapore edition so you might want to look out for that if the Young Generation September Magazine does not have the promo card.

One Piece AR Carddass Formation World Introduction and Review

If you've heard of Mushiking, I will say this game's core is exactly like it but you replace the beetles with One Piece characters. I'm a fan of One Piece and since the 3DS game didn't localise for US, this game will have to do for a portable One Piece game.

Although the game is basically a rock-paper-scissors (moves are renamed strike, break and cut respectively) game, there is still enough variation to it so that it does not get to dull. Each character has a skilled move (strike, break or cut) which will do more damage. If you complete a series of moves, you will also unleash your special move which results in a short cinematic cutscene. One top of all those, each character also has a special ability like damage increase or reduction. Lastly, the game can also randomly decide to grant you knowledge of what move your opponent is going to choose from the compass found in the between the characters' health bar. This is called mantra pose and sometimes I miss out on it by choosing my moves too fast. Edit: There is also a Guard Chance mini-game to reduce the damage if you get hit, just press all the fists that appears on screen under the time limit.

You start with 3 characters and an additional one through aiming your camera at a round object like a coin. One of the main special feature of this game is the QR/AR function where you can scan a picture code and a character will appear on it. You are mainly using the function to add new members to your crew as well as form teams from cards which you can buy packs of 3 cards from 7-11 stores.

The game saves to servers and for Apple devices, I think it locks on to your Device ID as I tried deleting and re-installing on the iPad. Upon loading, it retrieves your previous save data from the server without any choice. For your crew, you can only register each card once and it is verified through the servers. You do have the option to de-register the cards and otherwise I think it will all be tied to your device. I rather NamcoBandai uses iCloud or a specialised game account so you can play your game on any number of iDevices. There is facebook integration but it only allows one facebook account that is linked to be active at a time. I've also never figured out how the save games are tied to the facebook account.

The game requires an Internet connection at the start and there will be a special event retrieved from the game servers each day to encourage you to open the game everyday, for example, Sundays are boss event battles day. You engage in battles with your crew, bosses or events and gain berries to buy items from the shop and experience to level up to level 30. After battles, you can also gain items, treasures or new team formation. There are also special items you can get from unlocking achievements.

The game is free but to get the full experience, you will need to buy packs. At the start, there are How to play tutorial screens and my future posts will concentrate on other information about the game. Here are some more useful links:

Updating about the lack of updates

It's going to be a year since the release of Tag Force 6 for PSP (Japan ver.) and there is still no news of the US ver. or World Championship 2012 for DS or 3DS. Has Konami given up on the video game franchise?

My current "craze" is the One Piece AR Carddass Formation World app for iPhone and Android phones and seeing that I can hardly find much sites on it, my next few posts will be about the game!
